Why apply for a vacation scheme?
Our three-week summer vacation schemes are an exciting way to find out more about life at Freshfields, before applying for a training contract. Read our introduction to vacation schemes to find out more.
Am I eligible?
You’re eligible for a vacation scheme if you’re in your penultimate year at university. We’ll also accept your vacation scheme application if you’re on the second year of a four-year course: we’ll interview you this year, but defer your vacation scheme place to the following year.
Apply for a vacation scheme
The process of applying for a vacation scheme is exactly the same as applying for a training contract. To apply:

- Apply now for a vacation scheme place.
If, at the end of the three-week vacation scheme, you decide you want to join us, then you have the option to be interviewed for a training contract.
If you secure a vacation scheme place, you can apply for an additional one-week international placement.
When to apply
Summer vacation scheme
The vacation scheme application window is open from 1 October 2015 to 6 January 2016.
Scheme 1 runs from 20 June to 8 July 2016.
Scheme 2 runs from 11 July to 29 July 2016.
International placement
Scheme 1 runs from 11 July to 15 July 2016.
Scheme 2 runs from 1 August to 5 August 2016.
