In your penultimate year as an undergrad? Get a taste of life at Freshfields on a summer vacation scheme.*
Real-life experience of Freshfields
Our three-week summer vacation schemes are a great option if you’d like to get a taste of life as a trainee. On a scheme, you’ll do real work, go to meetings, participate in group exercises, meet associates and partners, and attend social events organised by trainees. You’ll also be guaranteed an interview for a training contract.
You’ll receive a weekly payment and, if you don’t live within striking distance of London, we’ll pay your expenses for travelling to and from the city at the beginning and end of the three weeks.
You’re eligible to apply for the vacation scheme if you’re a penultimate-year student studying law or any other degree. If you’re studying a four-year degree, apply in your second year and, if offered, we’ll defer your place.
Vacation schemes are very competitive. So if you’re applying for a training contract, don’t worry if you didn’t get a place on one – we’ll still consider your application.
We offer a number of vacation-scheme students an exciting opportunity to travel on an international placement to one of our network offices.
Students in previous years have found themselves in New York, Paris, Hong Kong and Dubai. We’ll pay for the trip and contribute to your expenses. If you’re interested in international law, you’ll gain a tremendous insight into how we work.
You can apply for an international placement only if you’ve been accepted on to a vacation scheme. It takes place in the week immediately following your vacation scheme in the London office.
‘The vacation scheme gave me the confidence to believe that this is really the career I want to pursue.’
