The LSC is home to a range of business service functions, as well as a legal service team which provides around the clock legal support for our lawyers.
What is the Legal Services Centre?
At Freshfields, we believe change is positive, as long as it moves us in the right direction. In 2015 that direction was north, as we opened our Global Centre in Manchester. It is home to a range of business services functions as well as the UK arm of our legal services centre (LSC), which also operates from Frankfurt and Hong Kong.
At around 100-strong, the LSC team is made up of legal support assistants, managers and a quality assurance function. Their services are available to all our lawyers on an almost 24/7 basis and in multiple languages.
The LSC supports all practice groups and offices with the more process-driven aspects of our client work. With innovative new technology at their fingertips, they provide assistance on transactional, advisory, contentious and administrative work. This frees up our lawyers – including trainees – to get stuck into the more complex, high-value aspects of client matters.
The LSC function is equally important for our clients, as it allows services to be delivered efficiently and cost-effectively. When we talk to them, they regularly tell us this is a key factor of their decision-making process when sourcing legal advice.
