We offer one to three year contracts to our legal consultants

We offer one to three year contracts to our legal consultants, subjected to the office you apply to. During the period, you will work closely with associates and partners on transactions. Regular tasks include due diligence, legal research and legal memo and agreement drafting. Working with us, you can expect to attend meetings with associates and partners, deal directly with clients and other professionals, and be involved in managing and executing transactions from start to finish.

We help our legal consultants with their career development by offering comprehensive on-the-job training as well as a variety of training programs for development of legal skills, management skills and other professional skills.

We encourage our legal consultants to qualify in common law jurisdictions. Each year, we select top performing legal consultants in Beijing/Shanghai and sponsor them for a one-year LL.M. study in US law schools and a US state bar exam. For those joining our Hong Kong office, we might sponsor you to study for the GDL and LPC at BPP Law School and offer you a training contract with our London office, subjected to satisfactory performance.

You’ll need to be fluent in spoken and written English

English is used as the universal language throughout our network of offices and in communications with our clients, so you’ll need a high level of English proficiency.

Your training depends on your ambition

We provide regular legal training and updates to new legal consultants. This introduces you to the firm and equips you with the basic skills and knowledge to start your legal career with us.

You then have comprehensive on-the-job training as you work on transactions and hone your skills under the supervision of our partners and associates.

You will also expect to receive various personal and management skill training for the benefit to develop your overall skills as a professional in a business environment.

While supported, you are encouraged expanding and deepening your learning driven by your own career ambition.

We also have a strong mentoring programme for all legal consultants

We allocate an associate or a partner to each legal consultant. We encourage you to raise any concerns with mentors, whether they’re about working practices, dealing with clients or workload.
